Gone To Soon
"Spot"

U-CD Chief Spotted Body CD, CGC
January 19, 1993 – November 5, 1999

It is with great sadness that I must say good-bye.
He was my start in the wonderful (sometimes exhausting) world of being owned by dalmatians and my first obedience dog. He was a great dog who loved everyone he ever met. All he ever wanted was to make me happy even in the end. So now his journey to the rainbow bridge begins where he will be happily waiting for me. I miss you already and will never forget you.
Your human mom, Yvette

I lost my first spot unexpectedly to kidney failure in Nov. of 1999. He was a true gentleman and a gentle giant. Spot was given to us by a co-worker  who thought it would be neat to have a litter of puppies and sell them. I was very inexperienced at the time and just fell in love with his cute little face. He was only 4 weeks old and you can only imagine the socialization problems that this caused. With tons of love and lots of devotion on my part we managed to work through all of this. Not only did I manage to put a CD on him but he performed very well. Spot ranked #4 for Delaney Ratings in 1995 and was also a Top Obedience Dog listed in the Dalmatian Quarterly, System I #4 with a 192.58 Average and System II #2 with 115 points. I was very pleased with his ability considering I was totally novice and had never trained before. In six shows we managed to accumulate four 2nd places and two 3rds. I was pretty much hooked into the world of dogs after this. I retired Spot after his Novice career when he was diagnosed with hip dysplasia at 2 years of age  and I didn’t feel that it would be a good idea to jump him. Spot became a local dalmatian ambassador after this and made most of the events our local club was involved in. He absolutely adored kids and was a HUGE (Spot was around 25" at the withers) (pun intended) hit when we went to educate on owning a dalmatian at the 101 opening. Spot also got to be a model briefly on part of a CITGO ad campaign. (Thanks to aunt Nancy).
