Vacation 2003

Here are some pictures from our annual vacation to Hilton Head Island, SC. On our last day this year, we also went to my cousin's house in Savannah and spent the night with them. That day, we went out on their boat to a small beach on Williamson Island right next to Tybee Island.

Couple of shots of ICW as we cross bridge to Hilton Head Island.
On Tuesday night, we watched fireworks from Shelter Cove Marina being shot from a barge out in the cove.
Katie saw this man with a parrot when we went back to beach one afternoon to fly kites.
This was a cool sandcastle we found after flying kites. The ones we build don't look anything like this!
Ginger getting ready to launch the trick kite for Katie.
Here's the trick kite in action. Sorry, still shots don't do much for it.
Sammy flying the Red Barron triplane. Its almost big enough to lift him off the ground.
Triplane way up in the air.
A few random beach shots. Crowd wasn't too bad.
Ginger trying to get as tan as her sister-in-law and aunt.
Here's the cart we used to bike our beach stuff from the condo. Its about 1/2 mile bike trip. After parking bikes at edge of beach, we unhooked the cart and pulled it onto the beach. This is much easier than trying to carry everything.
Some pictures of Katie and Sammy playing in the ocean. The waves weren't too high this year since midday was mostly low tide.
Sand sculture of Flipper Katie did. It looked like he was jumping out of the sand.
For the last 5 years or so, we have taken the kids picture at the entrance sign as we leave the condo.
This year, the kids also took ours.
Then, another family came up and asked if we would take their picture (with their camera of course). After we took theirs, they took a family shot of us.
Couple of dolphins decided to run with us by the boat.
Sammy with his 2 second cousins enjoying the wind in their face.
My cousin Kristi and Ginger held the cooler lid down while we rode.
Just when you thought it safe to go back into the water...Another sand sculpture. Yep, those are teeth on this one.
Now its time for a dribble castle.
Sammy gave it all he had at the beach and needed a little pick-me up nap on the ride back.
My cousin's house in Savannah :-) No, wait, that's a nice hotel on the ICW.
Shot of a nice boat we saw.
