Back when people actually knew how to *work* on their cars! ...

Each Lincoln-Zephyr that was sold included an array of simple tools -- jack, open-end and lug wrenches, and even pliers (which I don't have yet).

This page contains pictures of the correct tools I have gathered.  Some are quite rare, and one is possibly unique. The first picture shows what I currently have.  The jack (unique to the '36-37 Zephyrs) is shown at the top.  The metal bar at the bottom is the jack handle. (The tire iron below the box wrench is from a Model T, and should not be in the picture.)

The picture below shows a close-up of the jack.  I bought this jack from Jerry Emery (President of the LZOC), and he told me it came from a 36K mile Zephyr.
Roy Thorson, who is a leading expert on '36-'37 Zephyrs says it is correct for all '36s and early '37s. The jack shank on later '37 versions had a triangular shape and the base was stamped.
Note that it still has its original paint, and it is *black* -- not green like the authenticity manual says. Second, this jack is different in design from later ones, which *were* painted Kelly green.

Another hard-to-find tool is the double-ended box wrench, which was only used in 1936 and 1937.  It is also the only tool in the set to have an "H" ('36-'37 Zephyr) part number.  You can actually see the number in the pic below

Another interesting piece is the tire stop that came from the same low-mileage car as the jack.  The Authenticity Guide makes no mention of such a piece, and Jerry himself does not know of another one (although he'll be the first to admit he's not a '36-'37 expert).  Roy Thorson also has no idea about this particular part.  So who knows? If I get a definitive answer, I'll post it here.  In the meantime, it will remain a mystery ....
