This has nothing at all to do with the ET, but since the CC&O/Clinchfield/CSX interchanged with the ET, you can see CSX engines in Johnson City close to the ET enginehouse. The Clinchfield used to have a through line through Johnson City, but around 1950 they put in a bypass line around town so that the old Johnson City line is basically a long spur from down around Erwin. At the time I shot this photo, 1990, this was a brand new paint scheme for the CSX which I had not seen. It's a GP something-or-other (not being a louver-looney, I'll leave it up to someone else to tell me what it is).
