Farewell Woofy Boy

You have been gone for over 5 months now, & it is still almost impossible for us to say goodbye!  Neither Daddy or I were aware just how tightly you had wrapped your little paws around our hearts.  It is still hard to know that never again will we look into your happy little face, stroke your soft, lovely fur or hear you talking to us.

Of course we both knew how sick you were, but we were not prepared to lose you.  I know how hard it was for your pride to give up so much of your independence as you became sicker. You came to rely so much on your daddy for help, and how I miss hearing him say "come on Bud, you can make it."   You had always been such a tough & resilient little guy, I guess we both figured you just might even win your battle with cancer.

As we look at some of your last pictures, we can see in your eyes that you were so very tired!  We now know that you were ready to take your final journey & you were only hanging on for us.  I will always remember your final day & how you talked to me & let me know it was time for you to go. Daddy & I are very thankful we were able to be with you while Dr. Jackson helped you cross the Rainbow Bridge. 

Thank you, Woofy Boy, for blessing us with 15 years of your love & devotion!  You will be missed by both of us for the rest of our lives. 

Rest in peace our sweet little boy, you will live on in our hearts forever!

Go in peace now, our good friend
we'll stay right with you, until the end

Dream of that special day and time
when we'll meet at the Bridge, and all will be fine
We'll run and play, side by side
with a soft warm feeling deep down inside.

Your memory will live on, in each of us
you'll always be number 1, to all of us
have a safe journey through the night
I promise when you wake, you'll be in God's light
