The schnauzer comes in three varieties; Giant,
Standard and the Miniature. The Miniature is the smallest and most popular.
Schnauzers originally came from Germany, where the breed was developed
to be guardian of the farm & house, cattle dog, rat-killer and companion.

In the United States, the Miniature Schnauzer is classified as a Terrier. If you are
looking for an intelligent, lively and inquisitive medium-sized dog - the Miniature
Schnauzer may be the dog for you! The Miniature Schnauzer is an excellent companion
for all ages. The mini excels as a guardian - he is a steadfast protector of his
home and family. One of the mini's most appealing features is that they Do Not
Shed! The Miniature Schnauzer is spirited, friendly, obedient and very willing
to please. The mini requires a lot of love and attention and loves to shower
his family members with his affection. The mini is full of energy and loves to
run. The Miniature Schnauzer does well in homes with fenced in lawns as well as in a
small apartment.

and pepper, black and silver, solid black, and white. The white Schnauzers are not
allowed to compete in North America, however they are allowed to compete in all other
countries.
