In the Name of God. Amen I Charles Medearies of the state of North Carolina County of Guilford sadler being but weak of Body & low state of health but of perfect mind & memory thanks be given unto God Calling into mind the Mortality of my Body & knowing that it is appointed for all men once to die do make & ordain this my last will & testament that is to say principally & First of all I give & Recommend my soul into the hand of Almighty God that gave it & my Body I Recommend to ye Earth to be buried indecant Christian Buriel at the discretion of my Executors nothing Doubting But at the general Resurrection I Shall Receive the same again by the mighty power of God & as touching such world by Estate where with it has pleased God to Bless me in this life I give demise & dispose of the same in The following Manner & form


First I give & bequeath to my Eldest son Thomas Medearis one horse & Saddle one Bed & furniture one cow & calf & twelve pound current money & all the appertainenses then of which he has now in possession I give & bequeath to my son John Medearies all my Lands which I now possess with one Sorrel mare named Bet & Saddle Bridle I lend to my loving wife Elizabeth all my lands during her life or widow Hood. I give & bequeath to my loving wife Elizabeth all my Movable Estate Debts Either either by bond Note or Book Debt During Her life or widowhood to dispose of at her discretion then to be sold & Equally Divided amongst The My Children after paying all my Just debts I like wise Constitute make & ordain Elizabeth My wife & John Medearies my son the sole executors of this my Last will & testament allowing these my Executiors to discharge my Just Debt out of my Estate. Likewise the said John Medearis to give Malchi Medearies Stephen Medearis & William Medearies Each one twelve pound apeace current money of the state of North Carolina they being his three younger brothers when they come of age Which gives the said John Medearies a full inheritance to the said lands: & I do hereby utterly Disallow Revoke & dis annul all & every other former Testaments Wills Legcies bequeaths & Excecutors by me in any wise before named willed & bequeathed Ratifying & Confirming this & no other to be my last will and testament in witnesss where of I have here unto set my hand & seal this fifteenth day of March 1793

Signed sealed pronounced & delivered by the said Charles Medearis as his last Will and testament in the forsene of us who in his presence & In the presents of Each other have here unto subscribed our names
