Thanks for stopping by the
website of the HHS '58 Classiques . We are a group of women who
attended high school together. We are 1958 graduates of the Hastings
High School Class in Hastings, Nebraska. As a result of attending
our high school reunions over the years, our friendships have continued
to grow.
At our 45th high school
reunion, we decided to form our own chapter in the Red Hat
Society. Our purpose being to have fun and provide support for each
other in all areas of our lives. Our first meeting was held on
September 13, 2003 in Lincoln, Nebraska. At that meeting, we made
the decision to meet once a month.
It is an honor to dedicate
this site to
our former Queen Mother, Sharon Peck. Sharon was our inspiration for forming the HHS '58
Classiques.

"Warning"
by Jenny Jospeh
When I am an old woman I shall wear purple
With a red hat which doesn't go and doesn't suit me.
And I shall spend my pension on brandy and summer gloves
And satin sandals, and say we've no money for butter.
I shall sit down on the pavement when I'm tired
And gobble up samples in shops and press alarm bells
And run my stick along the public railings
And make up for the sobriety of my youth.
I shall go out in my slippers in the rain
And pick the flowers in other people's gardens . . .
But maybe I ought to practice a little now?
So people who know me are not too shocked and surprised
When suddenly I am old, and start to wear purple.
* An unedited version of the poem may be found on sale
at the
Red Hat Society Imperium.
