Impressions came more from
experiences during the year 2007 than from visual images as in previous
years. Dreamcatcher refers to how music often comes to me in a state
going into or emerging from dreams. Flowers in the Garden is about some
clusters that bloom through the growing season around our "moon pool."
The Messages piece refers to the flow of almost magical email
that can distract from or
fill your life. Then there is a piece called Taken Away in memory of a
departed friend, and Distant Colors about the awe I felt seeing
galaxies photographed with the
Hubble Telescope. Finally, Wheels of Time refers to the cycles of the
year, and Trail's End was a spontaneous improvation as I was thinking
about my retirement from a long-held job that is going to make it
possible to focus
on more natural and musical interests.
