This photo was taken at the Tsa La Gi museum in Tahlequah, OK
in the summer of 1998.  It depicts one view of a monument upon which
is engraved the name of John Looney,
a Chief of the Western Cherokee Tribes prior to 1907.

The files contain the application of a John Looney
for the GUION MILLER ROLL
and a supplemental application for minor children.

It is unknown at this time whether Chief John Looney and the John Looney
in these applications are related.
