Welcome to NotationMan's Page

Hi! I'm your SpacePlaceGuide. I was born in LabanWriter, developed in HyperCard, and now, I'm featured in MetaCard. If you slide your mouse in front of my face, you might be able to see who's behind me. Then, click me (or slide away).
My specialty is Labanotation. Click the steps in place.

Steps in place are easy to read. Begin with both feet in place, step on the left foot, then on the right.

Altering the shape and shading of a symbol changes its direction and level.

In the example above (on the left), the first step is forward. The second retreats backward. Timing is displayed by a symbol's length. Its placement on the staff indicates the part of the body that moves. If symbols are absent from a support, there is no support. The last reading displays jumps to the right from two feet to two feet and to one foot.

Any movement - from ballet to baseball -

can be recorded in Labanotation.

Did you know that I'm featured in cross-platform software that was created in MetaCard? It's called SpacePlaceGuide V.3.0.
