ANSWER:
WAGANE NDIAYE ROSE is the son of the famous Doudou Ndiaye Rose and taught sabar drumming in Atlanta, Georgia for over year. He performed on the Djabote video and CD and the Lac Rose CD. His teaching is very similar to his father's. For updated information on his schedule and upcoming classes in Atlanta and the Southeastern U.S. contact Karen in Atlanta at (770) 908-0885. Currently Wagane is touring Japan and should be back in the U.S. in 2000.
Wagane is available to travel around the U.S. to conduct workshops in your community. Wagane also organizes 2 - 3 week sabar drum tours to Senegal annually. Students will stay and study sabar with the Ndiaye Rose family in Grand Dakar. For most of 1998 and 1999, Wagane Ndiaye Rose will be teaching sabar drumming in Japan and performing with his Senegalese group "Sophië Kuergië" and other local percussion and jazz groups.
