You know, I don't have any particular problem with Disney. I mean, they're
a rather assholish corporation, run mindlessly and aggressively, but in
that respect they're not any worse than, say, Blockbuster or Wal-Mart.
Most of the time, they don't behave or act any worse than any other
company out there...they haven't 'censored' anything in any serious way
(hell, the worst was them and Insane Clown Posse - but I think it's clear
their major mistake was ever taking them on in the first place...not
exactly a very "Disney" band), just about every death that's occured at
Disney has been because some dumbass was hopping cars or stood up on a
downhill ride, and so on. They have done a few outlandishly assholish
things, like that incident with the day care center that had a few Disney
characters painted on their walls, but those are actually rather few and
far between.
My point? Not much of one. I just think that the main reason the
anti-Disney people get SO mad at Disney in particular (as opposed to being
mad at ALL aggressive, huge, mindless corporations) is because Disney has
such a nice, wholesome 'image'. I don't even blame Disney for that,
though; it only makes sense for them to TRY to project this image - I
blame the pink MORONS for buying into it! I mean, *I* have never thought
of Disney as a nice, wholesome place...maybe when I was 6 or so, but a
few years later it was obvious that it was just a big commercial money
sink. Anyone who thinks Disney cares just because Disney SAYS they do is
at fault for Disney's image. I suppose books like this are good for
helping to snap the blind people out of their disneyviewpoint, but I'm
sure most of them just wouldn't believe what they read.
