Agnes Southwell Lanier at her 100th birthday
celebration. Agnes Southwell Lanier lived to be almost 102 years old; in her lifetime mankind progressed from the short flight at Kittyhawk, N. C. to successfully putting a man on the moon. She lived in a time of great discovery ... penicillin, radio, television, telephone, electricity, the atomic bomb, atomic energy, computers, etc. She saw this nation endure two world wars plus several other armed conflicts. She was an amazing lady who was very much aware of her world and what was happening in our world even at the time of her death. |
