This mid-1930's photograph shows passengers at Floyd Bennett Field waiting to board their luxurious American Airlines' Douglas DC-3 "Flagship Skysleeper" (with complimentary breakfast-in-bed) commercial flights when the airfield tried to become the predominant New York City Airport (instead of Newark Airport in New Jersey). I like the motorcycle and sidecar--now that's customer service!
