1. when you do the LOADEPIC make sure the line that says "pulse divisor....." has a low number (normally 8). You should have set that to 8 when you first built the .JOY file ( to change: JOYSTICK /P8 /Q ) 2. run TESTEPIC to make sure the Px bars are moving. 0=ailerons, 1=elevators,2=rudder, 3=throttle. 3. type EXIT to return to Windows. 4. verify resources. settings/control panel/system/device manager/sound,video game controllers verify gameport X'd out R&R should look ok (click on it) click on "properties" click on "resources" verify ports are 200,201,202-207,280-28F (change if wrong) should be no conflicts. click "OK" 5. click on Game Controllers 6. If there are more than one listed, do any say "OK". If so, remove the others 7. If nothing is listed, try to add a 3 axis 4 button joystick. If you can add, does it say "OK"? 8. If not, remove all game controllers, exit Game Controllers, go back to control panel/system/device manager Remove R&R a. click on "Computer" (at top of list) b. properties c. reserve resources d. input/output(I/O) e. add f. start value-200 end value-207 g. OK h. OK i. Restart j. control panel/add new hardware/next/next/no/next/no/sound,video, and game controllers/ next/R&R/next/next/finish/yes (will restart) k. after rebooting open an MS-DOS session CD\EPIC LOADEPIC will load DEFAULT TESTEPIC verify Px bars are moving Ctrl-C to exit EXIT l. control panel/system/device manager/sound,video, and game controllers R&R should be listed with no redX or yellow! m. click on R&R/properties there should be no check on "disable in this hardware profile" or "remove..." n. click on resources verify ports are 200,201,202-207,280-28F if different "change settings" for any that are different. if asked to reboot, yes. o. after system is back up, repeat steps k,l,m,n if ok, repeat step 5,6,7 if still no "OK" in Game Controllers go to web site FAQ and get document on ICU from Intel to disable PNP resources.
