MINDSPRING HOSTS NORTH CAROLINA FAMILY REUNION IN RALEIGH
ATLANTA (June 2, 1998) - MindSpring Enterprises, Inc. (Nasdaq/NM: MSPG) will host its second MindSpring North Carolina Family Reunion at the North
Carolina Museum of History in Raleigh on Saturday, June 13, from 6 to 9 p.m. "We had a great turnout for last year's event, which was held in Durham, and we hope to have even more attendees this year," said Mike McQuary, MindSpring's president and chief operating officer. "The Family Reunions allow our customers to match faces with names, both of other customers and of MindSpring employees they have met online. It's great fun to bring us all together for one evening."
Events for the evening will include door prize drawings, and presentations by event sponsors and the MindSpring staff. The Museum's exhibits will also be available for guests to visit.
Sponsors of the event include Microsoft, 3Com, Wolf Camera, HotOffice Technologies, American Computer Experience, The NCSU Computer Training Unit, Coors, and the Herald-Sun newspapers. Microsoft will show how to browse the Web using Internet Explorer 4.01 and demonstrate Microsoft's new Windows 98 operating system. HotOffice Technologies will demonstrate their virtual office server software. MindSpring's product development team will demonstrate MindSpring's latest Internet software suite and the technical support staff will give technical tips and assistance.
MindSpring subscribers may register for the event online in advance at <http://www.mindspring.com/citypages/tellmetri.html> to take advantage of express entry into the Reunion. The North Carolina Museum of History is located at 5 East Edenton Street in Raleigh.
"We work hard to build the sense of community among our members," said Gayle Claris, MindSpring's North Carolina territory manager. "These events create a wonderful community spirit and let us say 'thank you' at the same time."
MindSpring will host family reunions in several other cities this year, including Atlanta, GA. Reunions have already been held this year in Birmingham, AL and West Point, GA.
