MindSpring Acquires Pensacola Internet Subscribers
ATLANTA (June 15, 1998) - MindSpring Enterprises, Inc. (Nasdaq: MSPG) today announced it has purchased the consumer dial-up Internet subscribers of Pensacola Internet of Pensacola, Florida. MindSpring is a national Internet service provider. Financial terms of the agreement were not disclosed.
In transitioning to MindSpring's award-winning service, each Pensacola Internet subscriber will receive the MindSpring Starter Kit, which includes MindSpring's user access interface and a complete suite of Internet software for Windows 95, Windows 3.x, or Macintosh; a comprehensive User's Guide; and access to MindSpring's 24-hour toll-free technical support service. Transition of the Pensacola Internet subscribers should be complete within 90 days.
"MindSpring is excited that we are finally bringing our service to Pensacola and that Pensacola Internet's subscribers will be joining our family," said Cliff Bryant, MindSpring's director of acquisitions. "We will work hard to make this transition as simple for our new subscribers as we can, which is one of the reasons Pensacola Internet chose to transfer their dial-up subscribers to MindSpring."
Pensacola Internet will continue to offer dedicated access, web page design and hosting services for businesses, and its Web-based "PenMail" service.
