MindSpring Enhances Dial-Up Access Service Plans
Dial-Up Plans Now Include More Mailboxes, $20 Referral Credits, and No Start Fee
ATLANTA (August 30, 1999) - Beginning September 1, leading national Internet Service Provider MindSpring Enterprises, Inc. (Nasdaq:MSPG) will offer several enhancements to its dial-up access plans, adding a greater value to MindSpring's $19.95 Unlimited and $26.95 The Works Internet access plans. New and existing MindSpring Unlimited plan customers now will enjoy two extra mailboxes for a total of three mailboxes at $19.95 a month, and MindSpring customers on The Works plan also will have the use of two extra mailboxes for a total of five at $26.95 a month. In addition, The MindSpring Works plan will offer two additional alias addresses (up to 16 characters long) for a total of five alias addresses.
These new, competitive MindSpring access plans offer an affordable way for customers to create and maintain separate mailboxes for their family members or business associates. And the Company's new plans are backed by MindSpring's award-winning, 24/7 customer service and technical support.
MindSpring also permanently increased its Customer Referral Credit from $10 to $20, and discontinued the $25 start-up fee for all dial-up access plans (Light, Standard, Unlimited and The Works). The monthly service fees for each plan remains the same.
"People will be happier using MindSpring, and we want the opportunity to prove it to them," said Mike McQuary, president and chief operating officer of MindSpring. "Eliminating the start-up fee is one way to demonstrate MindSpring's incomparable value - that we provide the best Internet access service for the money."
The new MindSpring access plans are available to both individual account holders and businesses. MindSpring conducted surveys and profiled its one-million-plus customer base to determine what kinds of services and products would make them happier. The result is a more compelling and competitive dial-up Internet access plan.
"MindSpring has long been committed to providing an ever-greater value for our subscribers," McQuary continued. "These modifications reflect the changing needs of our customers and our determination to meet those needs."
