banned in dc Banned in DC: Photos and Anecdotes From the DC Punk Underground ('79-'85) was originally compiled by Cynthia Connolly, Leslie Clague, and Sharon Cheslow (with additional editing by Lydia Ely) in 1988 to document the late '70s/early '80s DC area punk/hardcore scene, and published by Cynthia's Sun Dog Propaganda. It includes photographs, flyers, anecdotes and a detailed show list. Over 450 photos are featured in this 176-page book, including images by Devon Babler Agaba, Sharon Cheslow, Leslie Clague, Jem Cohen, Cynthia Connolly, Mary Diaz, Al Flipside, Glen E. Friedman, Kim Gregg, Rebecca Hammel, Stuart Hill, Mark Jenkins, Susie Josephson Horgan, Laura Lynch, Amanda MacKaye, Cristina Martinez, Dave McDuff, Ellie Moran, Peter Muise, Jeff Nelson, Steve Niles, Lucian Perkins, Naomi Peterson, Amy Pickering, Tiffany Pruitt, Bert Queiroz, Jay Rabinowitz, Malcolm Riviera, Jim Saah, Michael Salkind, Nancy Soshinsky, Tomas Squip, Jim Whitlaw, Lloyd Wolf, Sarah Frances Woodell, and others.
