An oral history interview with visual/sound artist Sara Roberts by Sharon Cheslow is now available through California Institute of the Arts, where Sara Roberts teaches. The interview was conducted in 2012 as part of a series on the impact of the Great Recession, and this particular interview focuses on changes for women in the arts in California. A very short snippet of Suture's "Pretty Is" is in the new film about Kathleen Hanna, The Punk Singer, along with a lot of other great music by Kathleen's other bands. The very first Decomposition 7", released in 1992, was a Suture EP with "Pretty Is" on it. Suture existed from 1991-92, with Kathleen Hanna, Sharon Cheslow, and Dug Birdzell. Suture performed at the International Pop Underground Convention (IPU) in August 1991...below are photos of Suture from that summer in Olympia, WA.

The top two photos of Kathleen Hanna and Dug Birdzell are by Sharon Cheslow.
The bottom photo of Suture at IPU is by Rose Melberg.
