Pulitzer Prize winning photographer Lucian Perkins and writer Alec MacKaye (Untouchables, Faith, Ignition, Warmers) are teaming up for a book and exhibit, Hard Art DC 1979. Some of Lucian's early DC punk photos were in Banned in DC and will be in the book/exhibit. Other images are being shown for the first time. The traveling exhibit, curated by photographer Lely Constantinople, opened at Civilian Art Projects in Washington, DC on November 5th (and will remain there through the end of the year). The book will be published in 2012.
