Due to the unavailability of several of the major parts for both TR6 and late Spitfire, we now offer reconditioned rear axle assemblies for sale on an exchange basis.

This assembly consists of the outer bearing hub assembly completely rebuilt with new bearings, seal, lock tab, nyloc nut, and outer u-joint installed. All you will need to do is install this unit in your car at the outside end of your inner slide axle(where u-joint attaches).
We will need to know whether you have wire or steel wheels(for proper stud length), and you will be ready to go!!! The price for rebuilt axle is $229.95 exchange.
Now for the bad news, the core charge is $100.00 for each axle. We are sorry for this, but due to the difficulty in separating this unit(if you do not have the factory special puller), we have found that most core units have been ruined if they have been unsuccessfully separated. The outer flange can not be bent, the inner axle key way can not be damaged, and the outer end of the axle can not be mushroomed. The best thing for you to do is to remove your axle assemblies from your car, and send them to us for rebuild. We will call you upon receipt of your axle(s), and let you know what the final charges will be, and you can decide whether to rebuild them or not. This will almost always work, saving you the core charge, and if you do not try to separate the bearing hub, we cam almost always rebuild them for the basic charge.
I know this sounds complicated, but this process is quite complex, and we must have good, rebuildable parts to insure your safety and satisfaction.

This assembly consists of a new axle shaft, new bearings, seals, and u-joint. We will need to know which side(for correct backing plate), and you will be ready to go. Once again, do not ry to separate the outer flange yourself unless you have the factory puller, if you try with a regular puller you can bend the outer flange, resulting in a higher price. The best news is the price and convenience for you to be able to repair your car yourself with very little expertise or help. The price for this assembly is $289.95 per side.
This price is higher than a TR6 because a new axle shaft is required each time(it is the inner bearing race), and about all we can reuse is the bearing hub and outer flange.
