Strange how things don't turn out the way you expect. Homecoming, for me, was not about a reunion with old friends (none showed up, anyway). Instead, it was about showing my girlfriend LuAnn a piece of my past. The side benefits were a short but well-needed vacation, seeing how the campus has changed, doing things in Pittsburgh that I didn't do in college, and visiting some relatives.

The old radio station where I spent my spare time (what little there was of it) is gone. I mean, the entire building is gone. So I went to see the new WRCT. From the outside only, though. They have it locked. WRCT Realaudio stream

A hot air balloon on the cut. New building on the left, new University Center on the right, and DU's frat house in the distance, which is now AEPi's house.

CMU is so cool, they allow Unreal Tournaments as an on-campus organization! Yet another thing to make me think I went to the right university, but was born 10 years too early.

2 photos only an old CMU'er can appreciate: the new University Center where that ugly old Skibo used to be...

It is amazing what 2x digital zoom and a cheap pair of binoculars can do!

Bigfoot - I mean, Scotty Dog, our mascot, a giant Scottish Terrier - at the CMU homecoming football game that LuAnn insisted on seeing. We lost. I didn't know we had a mascot.

All in all, you're just another brick in the wall... at the University Center.
