Alan and LuAnn's Honeymoon.

April 1 - 8, 2001.

Sunday, April 1: Miami
Anticipation: we spot the ship from the airport shuttle bus.

Monday, April 2: Nassau, Bahamas
First shore excursion: a submarine. All the fun of snorkeling, without getting wet.
Lots of fish, not much color.
A starfish. Don't even bother to click; the cropped photo is not much bigger than the thumbnail.
LuAnn in her sunglasses, on the ferry back from the submarine.
Then we briefly joined a band!
The cake from the honeymooner's party looked good. Unfortunately, that's the best I can say for the party or the cake.

Tuesday, April 3: at sea
"See you later, Nelson."
Counting the pins that were in LuAnn's hair for the wedding.
LuAnn in her new dress.
Ping pong -- one of our favorite on-board activities.

Wednesday, April 4: San Juan, Puerto Rico
On the beach before the horseback ride.
LuAnn riding a horse. This was, by the way, the best shore excursion in San Juan, even in my opinion.
There is no reason for this shot except to say that the cashier spoke better English than the cashier in a certain Wendy's that we ate at a few days earlier in North Carolina...
Park of the pigeons -- I wonder if they trained this one?
We walked around San Juan so much, we didn't know where we were.

Thursday, April 5: St. Thomas, U.S. Virgin Islands
While in dock, we took a bridge tour. If anyone asks where I was, I can pinpoint my location...
The main part of the bridge, with the steering wheel.
St. Thomas. I didn't get off the ship because I hurt my back. That's why the next 3 photos are LuAnn's.
(LuAnn's, scanned) A seashore at St. John.
(LuAnn's, scanned) LuAnn on the beach in St. John.
(LuAnn's, scanned) Red flowers in St. John.
The moon, the sunset-reddened clouds, the ship, and LuAnn.

Friday, April 6: at sea
If you think a big cruise ship doesn't rock, think again! It's not as bad as a small boat, of course, but you can sure feel it.
Despite the rocking, we still made a few baskets.
Cruise version of "Who Wants to be a Millionaire?" LuAnn was the only one that went all the way to $1 Million, taking away one rather expensive bag, frisbee, deck of cards, koozie, and water bottle.
The Chocoholic Buffet: kind of small, obviously designed by a non-chocoholic, but okay anyway.

Saturday, April 7: Great Stirrup Cay, Bahamas
LuAnn on the beach.
LuAnn & me, and our cruise ship in the background.
LuAnn again, smiling after our ride in the glass-bottom paddle boat.
The end of the trip: a shot of our cabin, well-decorated but small.

Sunday, April 8: Miami (disembarkation)

We took no pictures this day; it was mostly travelling.

Monday, April 9: Back at work
Thanks, Greg and Cynthia.
