What is scanning? Well, first, you have to have a scanning receiver (a.k.a. a scanner) and then you can listen in on local police, fire and EMS communications. But that's not all. A scanner can also scan many other radio services - everything from aircraft and railroad, to construction companies, to your neighborhood fast food drive-thru!

My primary scanner is the Uniden BC246T.  I also own a Radio Shack Pro-95 which I use for my live internet feed, and a Radio Shack Pro-83.

Do you want to listen to what I listen to live on the Internet?  I am a co-host of ScanCobb.com, and provide the live audio feed to the site. Click the logo below to visit:

Also visit sister sites ScanGwinnett, ScanDekalb, ScanFulton, ScanWalton, ScanBarrow, ScanDawson, and ScanTroup (all named for the counties in Georgia which you can listen to)..

Scanning Resources:
Here are a few of the places that I use to grab frequencies and other information about scanning where I live and where I visit:

ScanAtlanta - The #1 resource for scanning in the metro Atlanta and North Georgia area

RadioReference.com - Certainly the #1 resource for detailed nationwide frequency information in the US, and quite possibly the world! If you're traveling, or your area doesn't have a dedicated resource like ScanAtlanta, this is the place to go!
