photo: Barbara Barnum THE MYSTIC EXPERIENCE: ALTERED STATES OF CONSCIOUSNESS

With Barbara Barnum, RN, Ph.D.

Sunday, April 27, 1:00-5:00 pm

What does it feel like to have mystic encounters? Learn about altered state of consciousness from a speaker with more than 35 years of personal encounters.

image - mystic meditation Dr. Barnum has studied all aspects of mystic states including brain changes and different forms that encounters take. Unlike Cayce, the so-called "Sleeping Prophet," Dr. Barnum's experiences are consciously remembered, allowing her to report on them first hand.

This session includes explanations of how altered states work and accounts of her own experiences as well as those of Edgar Cayce and other mystics.

Join in meditations designed to start opening related centers in your own brain. There will be time for many questions and an opportunity to share your own mystic encounters.

LEARN:
  • What happens to the brain during a mystic encounter.
  • How sensations and perceptions are enhanced in altered states.
  • How mystic experiences differ from psychic or even psychotic ones.
  • Why perceptions and interpretations of various mystics are similar and yet unique.
