| Council
Approves Plan for "Collapsible" Practitioner Room
by Teresa Soru, Council Secretary The last meeting of the Center's Community Council took place January 10, 2002. Every year, at the first meeting of the year, the Council chooses a community ideal and decides the role each Council member will have for the coming year. It was agreed to keep the same ideal as last year, "To Manifest the Love of God in Service to Humanity" and to keep the roles of the Council Members the same as in 2001: Lynne Miceli will serve as Council Chair, Michael Lopez as Vice Chair & Co-Chair of the Communications Committee, Dr. Elyse Curtis as Treasurer, Teresa Soru as Secretary, Sylvia Chappell: Program Committee Chair, Ken Klein: Co-Chair of the Communications Committee, and Peter Miceli, Newsletter Committee Chair. Recently the Council decided via e-mails to approve plans to create an extra, collapsible practitioner room at the Center, to be added when needed through the use of a rolling wall. This room will primarily be used by chiropractor, Dr. Scott Keller on the days when he practices in the Center, and will enable Dr. Keller to serve more people.v |
Power
of Prayer Reaches Italy Through Open Door in Cyberspace!
The Oct. - Dec. 2001 Open Door newsletter carried an article by Teresa Soru , "The Awesome Power of Prayer," in which she told of her experiences on September 11th, and how she and all the employees in her unit (for whom she prayed daily) were late and did not come to work in W.T.C. 7 that day: All were completely out of harm's way. In January, Peter Miceli received an e-mail from a man named Carlo Patteri in Italy, who said he had been searching the Internet for information on the Twin Towers, and saw the name Soru come up. Since he knew a Christina Soru, he clicked on this reference, and found himself reading Teresa's article, on the "Power of Prayer," which was posted on the A.R.E. of N.Y. website as part of the Open Door Online. The article also mentioned Teresa's niece, Christina, whom Carlo had actually met on a trip to the United States. "This is incredible," Carlo wrote "Not only is the story incredible but I think I know Christina Soru!" Peter forwarded Carlo's e-mail to Teresa Soru. It turned out that Carlo is a distant cousin of both Teresa and Christina Soru, living in Sardinia, Italy, where Teresa was born. According to Cayce, our actions, words and even thoughts have a "ripple effect," touching many others in this case, reaching all the way to Sardinia! As an experiment, go to the Internet, use some search engine, such as www.google.com, and put in the key words: World Trade Center, Soru. See what comes up! v |
