Electronic mailing lists can be a fun way to meet other lace makers, ask questions, and learn new techniques.  For each mailing list, a site has volunteered to administer the mailing list.  All of the members send email to the central site which distributes the email to all the members.  Each mailing list will have a different set of rules and personality. 

A mailing list can be received in normal format or in digest format.  In normal format, you receive each mail message individually.  For a large mailing list, this can mean you will receive anywhere from 10-1000 mail messages a day.  In digest format, you receive a day's worth of messages packed in one email message. 

When you subscribe to the mailing list, it will send a welcome message stating how to send email to the list, etc. 

This is a general discussion list which covers all types of lace.  It has both a normal format and a digest format.  The lace arachne list can sometimes be very busy, so try it in normal format to get a feel first, and then perhaps consider switching to digest.  They have a great FAQ (Frequently Asked Questions) page at http://www.geocities.com/Heartland/Fields/1404/faq.html.

or

A confirmation message will be sent.  Read the instructions carefully on how to correctly confirm subscription. 

NOTE:  This list used to be the tatting mailing list.  It has changed names and moved.  It is now a onelist mailing list.  Current members of the mailing list were automatically moved to the new list.

This is a tatting only mailing list.  The members often mention other types of lace, but are generally interested in the intricacies of tatting.
