Adele
Ward is creating a swan using Milanese bobbin lace on her cookie pillow.
See the close up below. Immediately to her left is Tina Schuman,
a fellow bobbin lacer. In the back are Doris Guidry and Barbara Tarpley
who are both tatters. Herlinda Vidal is on the far right. She
is making a Torchon bobbin lace edging. Many of her bobbins were
made by her husband. The wooden bobbin winder to her right was hand
crafted by her husband from pictures. It is a beautiful piece.
Here
is a close-up of Adele's swan. She does wonderful work, and I'm afraid
the picture does not do it justice. She uses mostly Belgian bobbins
on this piece. The handkerchief at the top of the picture was also
made by Adele.
Here
is the finished swan.
