Classes

Class A: Milanese Lace with Louise Colgan
18 hour class
Milanese Lace is characterized by special decorative stitches that become integral features of each design. The creative nature of this type of lacemakes it suitable for both traditional and contemporary interpretation. Instructions will cover all levels of Milanese techniques. Students will be given the option of using colored threads to make their own unique pieces from the selected patterns. A solid foundation in basic bobbin lace skills is required. Diagram-reading skills are also recommended. This year we will be offering the Atlanta Chapter logo design as one of the project obtions.
Note: A Wire Kit is needed for 3-D projects, if chosen. Cost is $12.00 per kit to be paid to the teacher at the beginning of class.

Class B: Honiton Lace with Sheila Wells
18 hour class
Honiton Lace consists of little flower sprigs and leaves. Beginners will learn Honiton's basic techniques by making their first little flower in Size 120 cotton thread. Sheila can enlarge the patter for what she calls "Cataract Honiton" with Size 80 cotton thread. It still looks like Honiton, though it is not as delicate. Continuing students will learn additional Honiton techniques, and Sheila will suggest some patterns or students can continue on with their own choice.

Class C: Tatting with Diana Butler
18 hour class
This self-motivated class will learn to make an 8-piece Nativity scene from Ineke Kuperij's book "Nativity 3-D." Students will need to bring at least 6 shuttles and usual tatting supplies.
Note: A kit including the book, thread, and beads to complete the Nativity set will be available for $33.00 per kit to be paid to the teacher at the begging of class.

Full registration includes 18 hours of class instruction, room and meals Thursday evening through Sunday Noon. Day registration includes 18 hours of class instruction and breakfast and lunch Friday, Saturday, and Sunday.
