More than 30 years of administrative/management experience in higher education. Now
Dean of Academic Services and Registrar at Samford
University, a comprehensive
institution of 4400 students comprising eight schools and colleges, including a
law school, school of divinity and a pharmacy school along with the more traditional
schools.
Prior to current position was Registrar at the University of Evansville
(Indiana), where responsibilities included planning, organizing and directing the recording, maintenance, accuracy, and security of the permanent academic records of many thousands of current and former UE
students. Prior to that I was Director of Records in The Graduate School at Cornell
University, where I was responsible for all aspects of management and registrar functions of the Graduate Records Office for over 5000 students. Previously was Director of Records and Registration at Nicholls State
University, where as member of the Enrollment Management Team, was responsible for directing and coordinating all registrar functions for students, faculty and staff at a 7,500-student comprehensive institution.
Some duties and responsibilities:
- Serving as a member of Provost's Executive Staff, the Academic Council, the
Curriculum Committee and the Academic Affairs Committee.

Managing the on-line registration system; records maintenance system; degree audit system, transcript system; classroom scheduling system; grade recording and maintenance systems.

Formulating and administering academic policies/procedures/regulations and interpreting same to faculty, staff, students, and external publics.

Preparing the schedule of classes, the annual budget, the academic calendar,
the registration schedule, catalogs, course rosters, and pamphlets.

Collecting, analyzing, and interpreting statistical data.

Certifying NCAA eligibility and compliance.
- Approving security access
to the Student Information System.

Chair of Commencement Committee, directing all Commencement activities.
- Directing opening Convocations.
- Oversees office website development and editing.
- Designing forms and surveys using desktop publishing.
