~ About Avalon ~

There's nothing to writing. All you do is sit down at a typewriter and open a vein.
- Red Smith

I never expected to start writing again. And I certainly couldn't have predicted that if I did begin writing again, that it would be in the genre of X-Files fan fiction. I never even knew such a thing existed until the late spring of 2000. Look at what I was missing! Although I have been a fan of the show since its debut, I didn't know this wonderful fantasy realm existed on the Internet, where writers of all backgrounds created their own little worlds for Mulder, Scully, and all of the other fascinating characters of the X-Files. Once I discovered it, though, I was hooked! Writing my own fiction naturally followed.

I began writing stories as a child, and as I grew up, my writing grew into other areas as well. In high school, I was the editor of the school newspaper, and I toyed with the idea of becoming a journalist. I wanted to be a film critic, however, and when I realized I would have to start at the bottom of the journalistic heap, that squelched that desire! I turned instead to the theatre, which had always been a passion of mine, and ended up instead with a degree in Theatre, Speech, and English Education. I loved teaching, but I couldn't find a job after graduation, so I ended up doing something boring and mundane for years. Sound familiar to anyone?

Constantly searching for the truth of who I was and what I wanted to be when I grew up, I finally came to the realization that I was wasting my life in a dead end job. I enrolled in massage therapy school and began my ongoing quest for spiritual answers. I have been a licensed massage therapist since January of 1996, and I am now an ordained Spiritualist minister as well. For the past nine years, I have also served my community as a professional psychic medium and counselor, which may explain my fascination for the paranormal cases that the X-Files always highlights. But my main interest in the show itself is the deep and complex relationship between Mulder and Scully. Yes, I am a shipper, but only in the context of the intelligence and depth that this type of relationship would bring to the two of them. My fiction hopefully reflects this.

And so I welcome you to my little corner of the X-Files universe. It is usually a place of angsty longing between Mulder and Scully, but, occasionally, I allow them to have a good time. My own life is filled with love, from my wonderful husband, Keith, my twin boys, Max and Ben, and my large circle of special friends and family. Having all these terrific things in my life makes me feel quite blessed, and I think this optimism is reflected in the way Mulder and Scully respond to each other in my fiction. I hope you enjoy this page, and please drop me a note anytime to let me know if any of the stories touch you.
