How to Get Alabama Death Certificates from the LDS Family History Centers

Many times, the family history researcher does not need a certified copy of a death certificate.  The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints Family History Library has purchased the microfilmed index to Alabama death certificates, and copies of Alabama death certificates.  These microfilms may be rented for use at any Family History Center (FHC).   For the location of the nearest FHC, contact a LDS church near you.  Also, the Alabama death index is available at the Alabama Department of Archives and History in Montgomery, at the Birmingham Public Library in the Microforms Department, and at the Special Collections of Wallace State in Hanceville, Alabama.
