4. Joel⁴ Utley (Alvin³, Isham², William¹)⁽⁸⁷⁷⁾ was born 1820. Joel died 1887. His body was interred in Oregonia Cemetery, Tuscaloosa County, Al.

He married Sarah Caroline Walton in Tuscaloosa County, Alabama, 19 November 1850. Sarah was born 1829. Sarah died 1887. Her body was interred in Oregonia Cemetery, Tuscaloosa County, Al.

Joel Utley and Sarah Caroline Walton had the following children:

+ 6 i. David A.⁵ Utley was born 1853.

+ 7 ii. Sidney Samuel Utley was born 1855.

8 iii. Mary Jane Utley⁽⁸⁷⁸⁾ was born in Tuscaloosa County, Alabama CA 1853. She married three times. She married John Bolton.⁽⁸⁷⁹⁾ She married M. J. Cox in Tuscaloosa County, Alabama, 1 September 1874.⁽⁸⁸⁰⁾ M. was born about 1864. She married Alsey Johnson in Mrs. L. Harrison's, 12 April 1891.⁽⁸⁸¹⁾ Alsey was born CA 1827.⁽⁸⁸²⁾

9 iv. Robert Lee Utley⁽⁸⁸³⁾ was born in Alabama CA 1863. He married Lucinda America Baker in Tuscaloosa, Alabama, 19 December 1883.⁽⁸⁸⁴⁾ Lucinda was born in Tuscaloosa, Alabama 28 March 1864.⁽⁸⁸⁵⁾

10 v. Lula Utley was born in Alabama APR 1865. Her body was interred in Oregonia Cemetery, Tuscaloosa County, Al. She married George W. H. Harrison in Tuscaloosa County, Alabama, 2 March 1881.⁽⁸⁸⁶⁾ George was born in Ms Or Al MAY 1835. (See George W. H. Harrison for the continuation of this line.)

+ 11 vi. Walter Utley was born AUG 1868.

12 vii. Lela F. Utley⁽⁸⁸⁷⁾ was born March 1869. She married John (Jonathan) H. Jones in Joel Utley's--Tuscaloosa Co., Alabama, 15 December 1886.⁽⁸⁸⁸⁾ John was born March 1864. He was the son of Hugh W. Jones and Sarah Poe. (See John (Jonathan) H. Jones for the continuation of this line.)

13 viii. Thomas Utley was born in Alabama CA 1869. He married Matilda J. Tierce in Tuscaloosa Co., Al(res. Of D(?)j Utley), 13 September 1888.

14 ix. Lonnie Alonza Utley was born in Alabama CA 1873. He married Della Baker 11 August 1897.⁽⁸⁸⁹⁾ Della was born abt 1879.⁽⁸⁹⁰⁾

15 x. Winnie E. Utley was born in Alabama CA 1876. She married Wiley McMillan in Mrs. L. Harrison's, 31 January 1892.⁽⁸⁹¹⁾
