Advanced Choir Auditions

Open Advanced Choir auditions for next year's 7th graders will be held on Tuesday March 31 at 4:00 PM in the Horner music room. Please bring a letter of recommendation from one of your elementary teachers (does not have to be a music teacher). The letter should address your classroom citizenship. It is also acceptable for your teacher to send me the letter via email. Since registration papers are due long before the audition, please place Beginning Choir as your 1st choice elective since Advanced is not listed on the 7th grade sheet. You will also need to do the following for Mr. Lorigan:

1. Sing a song of your choice. Any song! Use may use a CD or just sing by yourself. I am listening for a beautiful tone and good diction. You will need to bring your own CD or music.

2. Be able to copy a simple melody that I play on the piano with good pitch.

3. Be able to pick out the first, third, and fifth of a major chord.

4. Read a simple melody by sight (this is encouraged but not required).
