Barbers and Laceys and their Pennsylvania Dutch contemporaries travelled out to Ohio, Indiana, and Iowa in the early and mid-1800's.  The midwest was an unspoiled new land, filled with promise and fulfillment for those who would take up the challenge, for those who would put their shoulder to the wheel of history.

On this Web site, we share their stories.

REUNION, Anyone?

Kirkman, Iowa -- August 7-8-9, 2009

(in conjunction with the Kirkman Alumni Association --

mark your calendar and watch for more information)

100 years since the 1910 Barber family reunion in Kirkman.

Preliminary invitations have gone out by email to those descendants of whom we have knowledge, and many have responded that they are interested in attending.  If you are not on our email list and have not heard from the Reunion Committee, please contact us
(barber-laceyfamily@mindspring.com) and add your name to our contact list.

Detailed planning has now commenced, and the Committee has made preliminary housing arrangements.  If you don't live locally, there will be a number of options, ranging from brand-new motels to bed & breakfasts and campgrounds.
