High Country Cycle Camp has provided motorcycles only camping and cabins in the heart of the Blue Ridge Mountains since 1987. 14 acres in a secluded valley provides lots of tent space, several cabins, a bunk house and large bath house with two showers for each gender. The picture above shows the view from the bath house. The building in the far center is the office and restaurant where a covered deck with tables and chairs provides a view of the entire site.
Pizza served 6-9 pm
Breakfast served 7-10 am
| The bunk house rests alongside the stream and provides dry shelter you share with others. Bring your earplugs though because the running stream doesn't block out the snoring from the person in the next bunk. $10 per cot, bed linens provided for extra charge. | |
| Four cabins (utility barns with beds) reside next to a pond. I don't think towels are provided any more because, as Tom the owner said, too many were ruined by people using them to clean their bikes. $25 includes bed linens. | |
| There is plenty of space for tent camping with usually enough picnic tables to go around and several iron fire pits with grills. Sometimes Tom has wood you can purchase and sometimes not. The surrounding woods provide plenty to those willing to hunt. $8 solo, $12 two-up or couple. |
The roads into the camp ground are fabulous as long as the pea gravel has not been laid recently.
