Deposition of Burrell Philips, 1804 Davidson County, Tennessee

Depositions from the Estate File of William Ridge

Burrell Philips submitted a deposition in 1804 concerning Thomas Ridge McGee's whereabouts during the Revolutionary War. In 1833 from Henderson, KY, Burrell Philips corroborated the Revolutionary War service pension application of Thomas McGee of Humphreys County, Tennessee. Burrell Phillips and Thomas Ridge, aka Thomas Ridge McGee swore their depositions on the same day, 23rd of August 1804, in Nashville, Tennessee to William Terrell Lewis, Jr. This is proof that Thomas Ridge, half-brother of William Ridge, Tory, was the same man as Thomas McGee, Revolutionary War soldier, of Humphreys County, Tennessee.
