State of Tennessee or Territory of the United States South of the River Ohio

In Obedience to a Commission to us directed from the Hon'able Judges of the Superor Court of Law and Court of Equity held for the district of Salisbury and State of North Carolinia we have proceeded to take the Deposition of Captain John WEATHERSPOON who deposeth and saith that he was present and witnessed when delivered a true copy of the following notice at the dwelling house of Jonathan HAINES in Surry County, No Carolina.

Please to take notice that on the second Monday in July next I shall attend at the Court House in Nashville in the County of Davidson and Teritory of the United States South of the River Ohio then and there to take the Depositions of John McConnall, Captain John CHILDERS, Joel LEWIS, Zenos BALDWIN and others relative to the suit you as there nearest friend in behalf of the orphans of William RIDGE deceased against myself and William COOK Esq'r and others now depending in the Court of Equity in Salisbury District when and where you may attend if you think proper in order to cross examine said witnesses as I mean there depositions when taken shall be read in evidence in said suit.

Deponant further sayeth that he was in the Town of Nashville in the County Davidson and Courthouse of said Town where he saw sundry Depositions takenagreeable to the within notice and further the deponant says not.
