During the first year, our meetings were held at the YMCA on second street in Hamilton.
After our first year in existance the membership grew and we moved to a building in the 2500 block of Stahlheber Rd. where the club met until 1978.
The City of Hamilton allowed the club to meet at a location on State Route 129 known as "Poor House Hill" just east of Hamilton.
The club erected several antennas and a main tower on that site and became one of the premier contacts for the area during contest.
Several years later and several severe storms later, the conditions of the structure were to the point of being beyond repair and the building was unsafe to occupy.
The club then began to meet at the Hamilton Chapter of the American Red Cross on 2nd Street in Hamilton, right across the street from the original YMCA meeting location.
Butler County VHF Association had supported the Hamilton Red Cross chapter for several years and offered their meeting room when they heard about having to move out of the poor house.
The club continued to meet at the Red Cross Chapter until June of 2000.
William Moore W8KVU negotiated two rooms at the newly built D. Russel Lee Vocational School 3603 Hamilton Middletown Rd.
Bill also negotiated a radio tower and cable runs to one of the rooms that would become the club radio station. The other room would be used for meetings and test sessions.
D. Russel Lee also known as Butler Technical School is where the club remains located today.
The radio room remains to be "State of the Art" in communications equipment providing 2 main operators positions, a 3rd position that can be utilized for VHF-UHF and HF and a place for an internet connected computer system complete with a printer that has FAX machine capability.
The Butler County VHF Asociation has entered into a Memorandum of Understanding with the Butler County ARES team.
The clubs radio room has been given the designation of the Amateur Radio Emergency Communications Center for Butler county.
This is just one more way the Butler County VHF Assocition continues to support the residence, the community in whole, and serve the public safety agencies of Butler county.

This room seats 40 people.
There is a 4 position remotely controlled switch box at the bottom of the tower for adding 80-160 meter dipoles.
There are also connections to add antennas as needed for equipment inside the radio room.
