How To Add US Holidays to the Palm Pilot Date Book
One of the first things I noticed when I got my new Palm Pilot Professional
was that the Date Book application didn't have any pre-entered dates or
holidays. So, my first real Pilot 'project' was to add the holidays
that I wanted to the Date Book. To make entering the calendar of
American holidays easier I've come up with this list of holidays and instructions
on how to add them to the Date Book.
-
Start the Date Book Application.
-
Pick a holiday to add from the list below.
-
Tap 'Go to' and go to the date for the holiday.
-
Tap 'New', 'No Time', then 'OK'.
-
Tap 'Details' then 'Repeat'.
-
If the holiday falls on a specific date (i.e. January 1st), tap 'Year'
and 'OK' and go on to the next holiday.
-
If the holiday falls on a specific day during the month (i.e. the third
Monday in January), tap 'Month', enter '12' for 'Every: ____ Month(s)'
and tap Repeat by: 'Day' and go on to the next holiday.
That's all there is to it. It took me about five minutes once I found a
list of holidays and their dates.
