This is a 1998, 986 Boxster. My wife and I have owned the car since February of 2003. I have the original window sticker, manuals, 3 keys (2 master/1 valet) and all of the records / invoices from new. I'm the 3rd owner. The car has been garaged and covered for the last 3 years and the 2nd owner kept the car garaged and covered as well. This is my third Porsche, the previous 2 being 911's. I'm a 15 year Porsche Club member. The car has been driven on the weekends and in the rain ONLY if we got caught unexpectedly.

The car has almost 55,800 miles on the odometer. I purchased the car with approximately 39,750 miles on the odometer. My wife and I use the car for weekend trips and afternoon drives through the Ozark and Boston mountains here in N.W. Arkansas. The car was originally delivered in Houston, TX and then purchased and taken to Newport Beach, CA. I purchased the car from the second owner (also a Porsche Club member) who only had the car for about a year. The second owner developed a back injury that made driving the Boxster difficult for him. The car has been in a dry salt free environment for its entire life.

The car is immaculate and beautiful to drive and look at. The Boxster is current with all service according to Porsche's recommendations. I have the title and I'm asking $18,250 OBO (Reduced from $18,500 on 2.12.06). This is that 1 out of a 100 Boxster in a vast sea of mistreated and poorly maintained pre-owned Boxsters.

Take a look below to see what sets this Boxster apart from the rest.

The car was delivered with a center console that has a storage bin an a CD holder. I replaced the console with a GT3 delete option. I'm 6'5" and this frees up a little room for my legs (the original center console comes with the car when sold and easy to reinstall).

I purchased Porsche OEM floor mats and I have a set of like new red and black Coca mats that will go with the car when sold.

I updated the shift knob and hand brake lever with Porsche OEM leather and Artic Silver units (the original shift knob and hand brake lever go with the car when sold).

I also upgraded the center storage compartment lid to leather (the original lid goes with the car when sold).

The original cup holders were missing when I purchased the car but I have replaced them with the Porsche OEM units.

The radio was upgraded by the 2nd owner to a Blaupunkt Toronto in dash unit. This is a much nicer unit than the Porsche OEM unit. The owners manual and security cards are present.

I have also purchased a Porsche OEM parcel storage net. The car came with the parcel storage bag behind the seats. I preferred the flexibility the net offered. The buyer will receive both.

I installed Artic Silver bumper plugs to fill the unused license plate holes.

Also include is a Porsche OEM UV sunshield to protect the dash and interior and the Porsche OEM umbrella that is stored by the passenger side door and a car cover.

The top is original and serviceable. The rear window is clear and shows very minor wear. The rear window is starting to signs of a small crack where the plastic window folds in half when retracted (the areas in question are circled in the pictures below). The cracks appear where the plastic and cloth are sewn together. This sounds much worse than its is for 2 reasons: 1. I'm being very picky and 2. I'm including with the car an OEM Porsche top. Please find pictures of the new top below. This top retails for over $2000.00 at the Porsche parts counter. I have been quoted by 2 different shops $450.00 to make the change. I would expect the new top to last 10 years or more given reasonable care.

I'm also including a Porsche OEM Tonneau cover. Please find a picture of the Tonneau below. The Tonneau has not been installed. This cover retails for over $1000.00 at the Porsche parts counter and I believe is no longer available. This is a really neat option that covers the interior when the top is retracted and allows the driver's side to be uncovered so the car can be driven. It is constructed of the same material the top is made from. I've included a link to the installation instructions below which also show how the Tonneau cover works.

The car is currently shod with Yokohama AVS ES100 tires. They have at least 50% of their tread left.

Below you can take a look at each of the wheels.

Left front wheel.

Left rear wheel.

Right front wheel.

Right rear wheel.

Right rear tire tread which is indicative of the remaining 3 tires.

The battery was replaced 07.02.05 with a 24 month full replacement/84 month pro-rated warranty.

The original space saver spare and tool kit are present and complete.

The car is very well cared for and gets looks where ever we go . Surprising, since it really isn't anything out of the ordinary as far as Porsche's go. I've been accused of being anal retentive so that may account, in part, for the attention the car receives.

There are minor chips from normal wear and tear on the front hood.

The drivers side door has a abrasion on the trailing edge, parallel with the door handle, that was present when I purchased the car. I keep clear protective guards in place which prevent further damage and conceal the abrasion. Please see the pictures below.

This 1998, 986 Boxster owned , driven and cared for by a life long Porsche lover, it would be a great first Porsche and perfect for the spring days that are right around the corner. For the money, you will not find a better value. The car generates interest where ever it is seen and is really fun to drive. If you want Porsche handling and performance with the option of top down motoring this is a great buy.

The car has been very well cared for, if I do say so myself. I've owned and subsequently sold 5 "hobby" cars over the last 25 years and (knock on wood) every time, the first person to actually look at them has bought them. I think that speaks volumes about the care and condition of each car I've had the pleasure of owning.  I'll include an original sales brochure with the sale.

I will be happy to answer any questions. Let me know if you need any additional photos.

I look forward to hearing from you.
