In September of 1956 the Wilson/Mangham Triumph special, "the Texas cee-gar" achieved a new world's record with a speed of 192.30 in the flying mile (and 193.72 mph in the flying kilo). A month later the Salt Flats saw NSU shatter the 200 mph barrier, recording a speed of 210.77 mph with a 500cc dohc supercharged vertical twin ridden by Wilhelm Herz.
