JazzSouth Cover.JPG (40424 bytes) JazzSouth, now in its twelfth year, is currently heard on more than 80 stations. It features southern jazz artists deserving wider exposure, showcasing them through interviews and selections from recent recordings. JazzSouth focuses on jazz music uncompromised by commercial concessions. Its featured artists, selected through a "blind" jurying process, typically have recorded independently, or on small to mid-sized labels. The program offers these musicians an alternative means to widespread airplay and public exposure more typically enjoyed by major-label artists.

JazzSouth is hosted by veteran announcer Fred Story, and recorded at Concentrix Music and Sound Design in Charlotte, North Carolina. The 60-minute program is released quarterly, and features three 20-minute artist profiles. Its compact disc format offers stations the option of broadcasting the individual segments as self-contained monthly features.
