| BMI songwriters Sara Evans and Marcus Hummon
enjoyed a homecoming of a sort recently at BMI Nashville: a celebration
of their return to the top of the Billboard Country singles chart. "Born
To Fly," written by Evans and Hummon with Famous Music writer Darrell Scott,
took a 30-week journey to the #1 position. In addition to Sara and Marcus,
engraved mint julep cups were presented by BMI to Karen Conrad of Careers-BMG
Music Publishing, Inc., Donna Hilley of Sony/ATV Tree, producer Paul Worley
and Joe Galante of RCA. "Born To Fly" the first single and title track
from Sara's third RCA album.
Evans was previously honored by BMI for co-writing her #1 single "No
Place That Far." Among Hummon's #1 hits are "Cowboy Take Me Away," "Ready
To Run" and "One Of These Days."
