We had a bit of a problem here.
When we visited the storefront operation in Euclid, we were shown
all sorts of sample books and wall hangings of weddings they had done
all over Cleveland, and even at the White House. What most impressed us
was the beautiful pictuers taken inside the Court House down town. As this
was part of our photo plans, we chose Cirano's because they knew how to get
great photos in a wonderful setting like that.
Basically, when it came down to our wedding, the person who was sent
to shoot our wedding was someone we had never talked to or met before (except
on the telephone a few days earlier). He was unprepared for our agenda, and as
a result, our indoor photos in the church and the court house came out dark
and lifeless, and a far cry from the examples we were shown. When we
got our preview book back (after an rather long wait), we were very sad to
see the results. We later found out that the photographer did not work as a
direct employee of Cirano's, but was a hired contractor. Our single biggest
beef is that when we voiced our displeasure to the people at Cirano's, and
compaired our photos to the ones hanging on their studio walls, their reaction
was pretty much.. "Oh well...". If you wish some examples of how crappy some
of the photos came out, email us, and we will happy to show you.
The videographer was also provided through Cirano's. Our video turned out
GREAT! Much better than the photos. In fact we plan to pull some still shots
off the Video to replace some of the dark, "cave-like" shots we did not keep
in our final photo selection. The video guy was better prepared for his job.
It is VERY IMPORTANT to meet with the
ACTUAL Photographer AND Videographer that will be working your party well
ahead of time to work out details, locations, and the all of the specail photos
you want (family shots/formals/wedding party/cake/toss/special dances) and also
any special effect pictures you would like. Some places, as apparently Cirano's does,
work as agencies, and send out "someone" the day of your event. In our case,
we made a big mistake. Don't repeat our goof.
