Okay, so Keanu Reeves is not the ultimate lead for a Spenser movie, but Lawrence Fishburne fits my image of Hawk much better than Avery Brooks. This poster from The Matrix struck me as too perfect. Or maybe I've been immersed in this research project far too long.

Disclaimer: the above is something I like to refer to as a "joke."  The first part of the first sentence contains an intentionally understated bit of what I had hoped would be considered as "irony."  One humor-challenged individual, who I like to refer to as "a psychotic nutball" shouted at great length over several days on a message board about how I chose Keanu as the ultimate actor to portray the part of Spenser.
