Hatteras light was recently moved to prevent it from falling into the ocean, which in this photo was just over the dunes.

Cape Lookout is South of Hatteras, at the second of three points where the coast line makes a right turn, resulting in dangerous shoaling.

Currituck is the Northernmost lighthouse in North Carolina, about 20 miles from the Virginia border.

Bodie Island, named for the washed up bodies from the many shipwrecks.
