Epcot's Millennium Celebration

09-16 October, 1999

Tapestry of Nations

The Sage of time, fatherly, wise, and spiritual, calls for the Great Millennium Walk to begin
Two drummers (one on each side) pound out the beat as the Millennium Clock turns.
Aztec Man - Primitive, precise, and angular
Bird Man - Majestic, tribal, and colorful
Disk Man - Humorous, gangly, and charming
Hammered Man - Futuristic, agile, and strong
Inverted Marionette - Toy-like, tender, and gentle
The Sprite - Feminine, shy, and fragile
Wiggle Girl - Flirtatious, glamourous, and spontaneous
Angel Girl - Graceful, free, and beautiful

Hey, I didn''t make these names and descriptions up, it's in the commemorative program. ;)

The parade is really wonderful and the puppeteers work the crowd well, shaking 'hands' and dancing with the children. The music and drumming are hypnotic, pulling the whole package together. The first night I saw the procession it was followed by a group of CMs from all of Epcot's nations walking together.

An extraordinary performance, I'm going to see this one as often as I can.

Update:I saw Tapestry four more times in December and still can't get enough, it's that good.
